SUBJECT BULLETIN FOR TRIMESTER 1 2009/2010

Dear FOE Students,

Please find attached the list of subjects to be offered in Trim 1, session 2008/2009 and PLEASE READ THE IMPORTANT NOTES ON THE LAST PAGE OF THE DOCUMENT on how to arrange your timetable.

All students must complete their registration during the pre-subject registration period. (please check with Exam Unit on the registration date). All students must attend classes beginning 1st week eventhough you are waiting for supplementary result. Please come and see me as soon as possible (before the pre-subject registration begins) if you find the timetable clashes with each other which you are supposed to register according to your course structure.

Important Notes:

1. For Engineering students (except BMM), the maximum credit hours to be registered are as follows:

Credit Hours / Trimester Normal Under Probation
Long Trimester (Trim1 and Trim 3) 18 12
Short Trimester (Trim 2) 9 6

2. The minimum credit hour for every trimester is 1 subject.

3. All classes after lunch break on Friday will start at 2:30PM consecutively (3:30/4:30/5:30)

4. LAB HOURS:
Please do not register any class during your allocated lab session as below (unless for ECP1016 tutorials which will be conducted during BETA lab sessions). Eventhough you will find it's not clashing when you do the online registration, you may find your lab session might clash with your other registered subjects later since the lab schedule is released during week ONE. Lab session is not registered through online. This might happen for students who repeat subjects or students who take extra classes which is not according to the course structure.
BETA LAB SESSION : MON 9 - 12 , WED 2 - 5 , FRI 9 - 12
GAMMA LAB SESSION : MON 2 - 5 , WED 9 - 12 , FRI 2.30 - 5.30
DELTA LAB SESSION : TUE 9 - 12 , THURS 2 - 5
EPSILON LAB SESSION : TUE 2 - 5 , THURS 9 - 12

5. REGISTRATION

-Please read the instructions given by the Exam Unit on the Bulletin Board regarding the pre-course registration.

-Make sure you do the subject registration online since the registration will be web based.

-All sections are opened based on first come first serve basis. Faculty will not entertain any request to increase the maximum capacity.

-Make sure that you do your planning first before going for course registration exercise. Refer to the web for the timetable and try to arrange the best coordination for your timetable.

-The drop/add week will be held within the first two weeks of Trimester 1 2009/2010. The drop/add process will also be web-based.

6. SUPPLEMENTARY TAKERS

To the supplementary exam takers, you are advised to follow whatever classes that you plan to take while waiting for your supplementary results.

7. PROJECT

- For those who will start Part 1 of the project, please register for section EC401 code EPT4016 for engineering students and EPT4036/EPT4056 for BMM students.

- For those who will proceed Part 2 of the project, this subject will be automatically registered by the faculty during the trimester break.
